Looking out of the airplane’s window, it seems as though little doves were encircling behind us ready to head off to their preferred destinations. Somehow or rather, the pilot decided to take off after some time at 0920 (Singapore Time) to New Delhi. Expected traveling time was 5-6 hours. Bye Dad, Mum, Sis and Cats! :)
Finally, I’m here in New Delhi! The next step was to find the ‘Global Youth Meet 2006’ signage where transportation was provided for us, delegates, to check in to our hotel for the night. Wow I simply love the road system here, a place filled with thrilling rides and ‘Horn Please’ policy to let people know that you are coming so kindly please give way and kids coming to your vehicles selling roses!
After checking into Jukaso Inn with the other delegates from Nepal, Germany and UK, had our meal in the hotel itself and oh my *** wth the foods were like vegetables and vegetables?! (Pardon them because India is a place where most vegt-ians exist) Alright, the word ‘compromise’ came into my mind but I swear that for my dinner I’m so going to eat out and have my masala CHICKEN=meat!
Since we had no programs for that evening, we managed to ‘trick’ our facilitators, 2 India guys, into bringing us out for Singaporean’s favorite number one hobby which was obviously shopping! There they were helping me to bargain for really cheap prices and here I was buying 5 pairs of slippers. Great Combination!
We bought them dinner that night with my meat(s) on the dining table! Wohoo!
On our way back from all the shopping and dinner, picked up a book ‘Midnight Children’ for my dad since he’s one of the worms in the midst of the books aka bookworm.
